We suffered a 6-hour loss of water (from 11am to 5pm) on March 5th. This was caused by a damaged main water pipe near the pool. Management apologizes for this extended outage and is putting policies in place so that it will not happen again.
The damaged was repaired by our maintenance team.
This event has highlighted the need for Vista to establish some Disaster Protocols to ensure staff know what to do in situations like water-outages, hurricanes, fires, major accidents, etc. The Board is beginning the process of writing such policies and is looking of volunteers to help with the initial drafts.
Specific areas we will be considering include:
Hurricane Preparedness Plans: Comprehensive plans detailing evacuation procedures, emergency contacts, shut-down procedures for the clubhouse, condos, utilities (water, electricity).
Disaster Preparedness Plans: Comprehensive plans detailing resident responsibilities, evacuation procedures, emergency contacts, etc.
Property Protection: Pre-season inspections and protocols for securing common amenities like the clubhouse, pool, condo buildings, etc.
Communication Strategies: Protocols for keeping residents informed via email, SMS, or, if power is out,, on-site, in-person, or via website
Vendor Coordination: Pre-arranged, contracts with contractors and defined events to trigger professional support.
Data Privacy and Protection Plans: Plans associated with security around resident private information, Vista Financials, etc.
